Flow pack machine Importance of Routine Maintenance
2026-02-24
The flow pack machine operates continuously at high speed, making routine maintenance essential. The end sealing system is one of the most critical components, directly affecting sealing quality and production stability. Proper maintenance prevents temperature fluctuations and reduces downtime.
A common problem is large fluctuations in sealing knife temperature. According to the technical document *“Sealing Knife Temperature Fluctuation”* , this issue is mainly caused by poor contact between the slip ring and carbon brushes. Oxidation, carbon buildup, or loose installation can lead to unstable temperature readings.
Basic tools for maintenance include a Phillips screwdriver, 400-grit fine sandpaper, an M8 Allen wrench, scissors, and a clean dry cloth. Using proper tools ensures safe and effective servicing.
Before maintenance, turn off the machine and disconnect the main power supply. Never perform maintenance while the machine is energized.
Remove the protective cover and gently polish the slip ring surface with 400-grit sandpaper to remove oxidation and carbon deposits. Wipe clean with a dry cloth to ensure a smooth contact surface.
Loosen the fixing screws with an M8 Allen wrench and remove the carbon brush. Lightly polish its contact surface and clean it thoroughly. Reinstall the brush firmly, ensuring tight contact with the slip ring, and securely tighten the screws.
After reassembly, power on the machine and observe the temperature rise. The temperature should increase smoothly and remain stable. Perform a sealing test to confirm normal operation.
Daily cleaning and regular inspection prevent most temperature issues. Monthly polishing of the slip ring and inspection of carbon brushes are recommended. In dusty environments, maintenance intervals should be shortened.
